- Growing Demand among Asset Onwers, Fund Initiators and Asset Managers in the Real Estate Sector
Universal Investment has further strenghtend its sales team for real estate fund service solutions with the appointment of Harald Moll as Director Business Development Real Estate. The latest hire of the experienced real estate expert underlines Universal Investment's ongoing commitment to growing its real estate business as one of the key pillars of its corporate strategy. The strong growth momentum of the real estate business reflects the increasing demand from institutional investors and asset managers: Gross assets under administration now stand at EUR 33.5 billion, up almost EUR 8.5 billion from EUR 25.1 billion three years ago.
Harald has more than 20 years of experience in various positions in the international real estate business. Most recently, he was Managing Director at HT Kapitalverwaltungs-gesellschaft, where he was responsible for portfolio management. Prior to that, he was a fund manager at Art-Invest Real Estate Funds. Before that, he was Managing Director at AXA Investment Managers. A doctor of law and a banker by training, he began his career at Commerz Real.
“I am very much looking forward to bringing my experience to Universal Investment and working with such a dynamic team. We are currently seeing in the market a growing desire from asset owners to invest internationally. Universal Investment already has a great deal of experience in implementing suitable investment structures around the world and together we will further develop our presence in global markets”, says Harald Moll.
"We warmly welcome Harald to our team. His extensive knowledge and international expertise will be a key asset as we continue to expand our service offering to asset owners and asset managers as fund initiators. This is an exciting time for real estate investments. We see demand growing on a number of fronts. On the one hand, asset owners are discovering the benefits of co-ownership funds, which allow them to efficiently incorporate existing properties into professionally managed funds. On the other hand, asset managers are looking for suitable investment vehicles to make their investment strategies investable for asset owners. I am convinced that we can provide our clients with the best possible support through innovative solutions”, adds Marcus Kuntz, Group Head of Sales at Universal Investment.
Kurt Jovy, Managing Director Real Estate at Universal Investment, comments: “Harald's expertise will be instrumental as we continue to grow our assets under administration and provide our clients with best-in class real estate investment solutions. Many real estate fund houses are interested in outsourcing certain parts of the fund value chain to specialised platforms. This allows them to focus on their core business and their core competence, asset management. And that is where we come in.”
